Wa East;Bad Roads, the Biggest Contributing Factor to Post Harvest Losses – Hon Salifu Yakubu

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Candidate for the Wa East constituency, Salifu Yakubu has said that but for the presence of terrible roads in the area, Wa East would not have a challenger in agriculture as it remains the major source of income for people in the area.

According to Hon Yakubu, the Wa East constituency is the food basket of the Upper West Region but being greatly affected by bad roads, indicating that, he will ensure the prompt completion of the roads under construction from Wa to Bulenga up to Kulung and Yaala No 1 & 2.

He further indecated that, this will help curb post harvest losses, whiles reducing poverty in the area, adding that network connectivity and lack of electricity in most of the areas are other challenges drowning the Wa East constituency backwards.

He noted that, these challenges discourage the people in their quest for a greener future in farming. He said he would with the Member of Parliament Hon Godfred Bayuo Tangu to extend electricity to those communities yet to be connected to the national grid.
