The Former president John Dramani Mahama has reiterated plans of establising farm Mechanization centers in the various Districts if elected president of the Republic of Ghana .
According to the Former President, before he left office, he commissioned the first Farmer Service Centre in Gwollu in the Sissala West District, which was aimed at serving as a Mechanization Centre. This, he said would include extension services.
His Exellency John Mahama further indicated that, he will intensify the use of scientific methods and mechanization to make agriculture more profitable and more inviting to the youth.
He noted that, agriculture across the globe has transformed from agriculture to agribusiness.
The flagbearer of the NDC said his next government will redefine agriculture in the country, starting with the renaming of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture to the Ministry of Food and Agribusiness. He was speaking to the traditional leaders and party folks in the Wa East District as part of his four day tour to the Upper West Region.
