A representation from the regional campaign team including the regional minister, the affable Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih and the Heavyweight regional chairman of the party, Mr. SB Kangberee toured the various paramountcies in the Sissala East and Sissala West constituencies of the Upper West Region.

In the company of regional minister and regional Chairman were; the regional secretary of the party, Hon. Isaac Alitu, the deputy organizer of the party, Mr. Adams Zakariya Chikaay, the current member of parliament for Sissala East, Hon Ridwan Abass Dauda and the constituency Chairman for Sissala East.

The team was first led into Welembellee paramountcy by a group of charged and enthusiastic youth. They paid homage to the acting paramount chief of Wellembelee. Then, proceeded to the Tumu where the team paid homage to the revered Kuoro Richard Babini Kanton VI and then made procession to Banu Traditional Area to honour Kuoro Osman Aweedaga Haruna and his people in the Banu paramountcy

Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih at the event said the team was in Wellembelee in peace and on the purpose of telling the chiefs and their people what the Nana Addo led NPP government has achieved thus far and therefore soliciting their support ahead of the general elections.

The regional minister in a short address touted the achievements of the president Nana Addo led government in areas such as; Free SHS education, Planting For Food and Jobs. ” the benevolence of the presidency of Nana Addo has ensured the completion of regional hospital started by Agyekum Kuffuor. The hospital has been completed is operational with doctors doing so well “.

The regional minister further noted that, the advent of the presidency of Nana Akufo Addo has given the Upper West Region two universities and one in honour of the Sissala people which is now known as Hillia Liman Technical University and also SD Dombo UBIDS.

The regional minister also used the opportunity to introduce the paliamentary candidate of the NPP cum deputy Upper West Regional minister, Hon. Amidu Chinnia. He pleaded with the chiefs and people of Wellembelee to rally strongly behind Hon. Amidu Chinnia.

On the part of the heavyweight regional chairman, Chairman SB Kangberee, he thanked the people for their enormous support to the New Patriotic Party in the last general elections. “It is gratifying to be on the land of Mumuni Dimbie, I know Mumuni Dimbie looking down from heaven will be happy looking down to seeing his grandchildren taking his legacies”. Said the regional chairman. He added that, the home of the elephant – NPP is the Sissala land and therefore pleaded with people to continue to have faith in the initiatives of the government of President Nana Akufo Addo.

The team led by the regional chairman and the regional minister rounded up the tour of the paramountcies in the Sissala East and headed towards Pulima, Gwollu and Zini paramountcies and traditional areas in the Sissala West Constituency where the euphoria was awesomely greeted with the singing, drumming and dancing of zealous men and women.

Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih, the regional minister used the opportunity to trumpet on the achievements chalked by the barely three and half years administration of President Nana Addo in the areas of agriculture and education. Mention was made by the Minister of FREE SHS education and how it is impacting on the lives of rural communities and how such policy initiative groom prominent people like the late president Dr. Hillia Liman.

On agriculture, he said “… as a result of planting for food and jobs, available statistics have it that, Sissala East and Sissala West have produced maize sufficient to sustain Ghana for at least a year”.

He then introduced the parliamentary candidate of the NPP for Sissala West as Hon. Salifu Naliwie Baluwie and politely requested the people to remember of Hon. Salifu Naliwie when they are voting for president Nana Akufo Addo so that both can partner to propel their developmental needs.

The tour of both constituencies was climaxed in Tiwie at dusk where the regional minister addressed what one can call a mammoth rally.
